Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease that affects the central nervous system, by disrupting the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Its cause remains unknown, but scientists believe the disease is triggered by environmental factor(s), which are still yet unknown, in a person who is genetically predisposed.

In multiple sclerosis the protective layer of protein called myelin, which protects the nerve and helps electrical signals from the brain to travel to the rest of the body, becomes damaged.

This results in symptoms such as loss of vision, muscle spasticity, difficulties with balance and coordination and fatigue.
