The Lungs

STRUCTURE

The human body has two lungs. The left lung is smaller than the right because of the position of the heart.

The lungs are divided into lobes. The left lung has two lobes and the right lung has three.

The lungs are made up of a network of branching tubes called bronchioles. At the end of the bronchioles are the alveoli (air sacs)

FUNCTION
